Northport 69, Ward Melville 53: Sophia Yearwood had 15 points and five rebounds, and Sophia Bica added 14 points as No. 1 Northport defeated No. 4 Ward Melville in a Suffolk AA semifinals at Centereach High School on Saturday. Northport (20-2) meets No. 2 Longwood in a rematch of last season's AA championship game at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's (Patchogue). (Longwood won the game, 45-43.) Danielle Pavinelli added 13 points, eight assists, and seven rebounds, Kelly McLaughlin chipped in 12 point, and Kerry Dennin had seven points, nine rebounds and three assists in the win. Freshman Julia Greek and senior Jamie Agostino each had 14 points for Ward Melville (17-5).
