Southold 47, Pierson 43: Nick Grathwohl sank three free throws and Steven Russell added one more in the final 25 seconds of play to break a tie and secure the win for Southold (2-2) in Suffolk VII. Southold was down by three heading into the fourth quarter. After Pierson went up 39-33, Grathwohl and Russell shot consecutive threes to tie the score at 39 with about two minutes remaining. After a back-and-forth, Pierson and Southold found themselves tied at 43. Grathwohl broke the tie and Russell scored the last free throw for the final score. Grathwohl finished with 18 points and eight rebounds. Russell totaled 16 points and 10 rebounds. Pierson's Henry Brooks also scored 18 points.
