Riverhead 53, Newfield 48: Zy'Aire Pittman's three-pointer late in the fourth quarter broke a tie at 45 and propelled Riverhead (2-1) in non-league. Pittman (14 points) added another three-pointer on the next possession to give Riverhead a six point lead. The Blue Waves switched to a match-up zone defense in the third quarter, where they outscored Newfield 25-12. Quashiem Miller scored eight of his 15 points in the third and also grabbed 11 rebounds in the win. Christian Agostino made six three-pointers and finished with 20 points for Newfield.
