HIGHLIGHTS
Mepham 52, New Hyde Park 51: Nah'jel Sands hit a 3-pointer with under a minute left to lead Mepham (2-0) in the opening round of the New Hyde Park Coaches vs Cancer Tournament. Sands, who scored all of his 22 points in the second half, gave Mepham their first lead of the game making the score 52-49. New Hyde Park's Chris Castor shot a 2-pointer to make the score 52-51, but Mepham held on for the win. Greg Paul added 11 points and Kieran Gilroy added eight, including a 3-pointer in the fourth. Mepham will face the winner of Mineola and Herricks, Friday, in the next round of the tournament.
