HIGHLIGHTS

Sewanhaka 40, Garden City 39: Rahim Akinwunmi hit the game-winning three-pointer with three seconds remaining, leading Sewanahaka (7-2) past first-place Garden City (8-2) in Nassau A-I. After a timeout with 24 seconds remaining and Garden City holding a 39-37 lead, Sewanhaka drained the clock and Akinwunmi sank his three from the left wing. "We drew up a play for him to hit a three," coach Jay Allen said. Akinwunmi scored 11 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Giovanny Bryce had 14 points and 10 rebounds. For Garden City, Andrew DeSantis scored 15 points. "Garden City's very well-coached, and they're one of the better teams in Nassau County, so to win a game at the end when you're down on your home floor, it's great for moving forward into the playoffs," Allen said. "That momentum is just huge, and that confidence is big for our team."
