Manhasset 60, Garden City 59: Tramont Smith hit a free throw to with 0.5 seconds left in overtime to lift No. 9 Manhasset over No. 8 Garden City in the first round of the Nassau Class A playoffs. Smith (four points) was fouled as he drove to the basket. John Sanseverino scored 20 points, including a jumper that tied it at 59 with 35 seconds left for the Indians (9-9). Jon Granville scored 10 of his 17 points in the fourth quarter for Garden City, leading a late rally from down 13 points. His layup tied it at 55 with three seconds left in regulation. Joe Enea had 12 points and 13 rebounds and Jack Keogh added 12 points and four assists for Manhasset. The Indians The Indians face Floral Park/South Side on Feb. 20.
