North Shore 44, Valley Stream South 43: Thomas Lipner was fouled while shooting a three-pointer as time expired and hit the game-winning free throw to lead North Shore over Valley Stream South, 44-43, in Conference A-IV boys basketball yesterday. Nick Hartman, who had 13 points, seven rebounds and four assists, hit a three-pointer that put North Shore (6-3) ahead 43-42 with 50 seconds remaining. After Valley Stream South's (7-2) Hall Elisias made a free throw to tie the game with 5.5 seconds remaining, Frank Castiglione drove the length of the court and found Lipner, who was then fouled. Tyler Rieger had 13 points, nine rebounds and three assists for North Shore.
