Southold 54, Smithtown Christian 32: Senior Liam Walker scored his 1,000th point to lead Southold (4-0) over Smithtown Christian in League VIII. The four-year starter had 27 points, 10 rebounds and five steals in the game. "He's everything for us," coach Phil Reed said. "He scores and he sets the tone for us. He gets out on the break and he has a lot of intangibles and he's usually defending the other teams best player. Being a small school and having a kid like that is huge because we don't have a lot of size. He plays a lot bigger than his height and his basketball IQ is great - he knows the game in and out." Greg Gehring added 10 rebounds, five assists and three points for Southold.
