HIGHLIGHTS
Mt. Sinai 53, Kings Park 51: Senior forward Brian Vales scored 22 points, pulled down eight rebounds, handed out an assist and blocked three shots to lead Mt. Sinai (11-2) to victory in Suffolk League V play. Fellow senior forward Hunter Seale totaled 10 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals. Seale hit a pair of catch-and-shoot three-point field goals in the fourth quarter, including one with 35.2 seconds left, to take the lead for good. Sophomore guard Andrew McNeely contributed 10 points and three assists, one of which came on an alley-oop dunk by Vales with 3:55 left in the third quarter. McNeely also hit a catch-and-shoot three-pointer through a foul from the left wing off an assist from Seale. Senior guard Alex Campanelli corralled seven rebounds and led the team with five assists. Campanelli assisted his squad's final two field goals, as he set up a layup by Vales with 1:26 remaining and Seale's go-ahead three-pointer. Senior guard Dante Gervino also had two steals. Sophomore guard Collin Bruder chipped in four points, a steal and a block off the bench. Mt. Sinai stays in first place in Suffolk V at 7-0. For Kings Park (8-4), junior forward Kyle Edmundson posted a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds while also adding two assists and a block. He hit a buzzer-beater to end both the second and third quarters, as he nailed a catch-and-shoot three-pointer from the left wing right before halftime and a driving layup just before the fourth quarter. Edmundson's buzzer-beating three-pointer came off an assist from junior guard Jake Padilla, who had seven points, four rebounds, five assists and three steals. Senior guard Michael Svolos registered 14 points. Senior guard Charlie Pace racked up three points, five rebounds, two assists, three steals and one block. All three of his steals came within a minute of one another late in the second frame. Sophomore forward Logan Tutone hauled in seven rebounds and blocked a shot. Kings Park is now 5-2 in Suffolk V action.
