Rob Pericolosi and Josh Garelle each scored 14 points as South Side won the Long Island Class A championship game at Island Federal Arena. James Bivona added eight points and Patrick Mullin six points for the Cyclones, who trailed for only 14 seconds in the game. South Side (24-1) is Long Island champion for the second time and first since 1978. It takes a 24-game winning streak into Friday's 7:45 p.m. state semifinal at Cool Insuring Arena in Glans Falls, N.Y. Matty Garside scored a game-high 27 points for the Kingsmen (17-8).
