According to assistant coach Dom Colasanto, Weiss, a senior and four-year starter averaging 25.3 points a game became the seventh 1000 point scorer under current Jayhawks head coach Walter Bachman when he scored on a breakaway lay-up with six minutes left in the fourth quarter.
