Bethpage 52, Plainedge 51: Bethpage coach Jack Davenport calls Brian O'Boyle "the best rebounder I've ever had." The 23rd-year coach also could have added that the 6-3 O'Boyle has a great sense of timing and a flair for the dramatic. O'Boyle's tip off a miss at the buzzer gave Bethpage (2-1) a thrilling one-point Nassau A-IV win. "He's just very tough," said Davenport of O'Boyle. "He has good timing and he takes a lot of pride in his rebounding." O'Boyle ended the game with 13 points and 21 rebounds, the most Davenport remembered in his tenure. Joe Iadevaio (25 points) hit a three-pointer with seven second left to give Plainedge a 51-50 lead with seven seconds left. Matt Lane had 17 points and 10 rebounds, and Bora Soybas added 10 points and seven assists for Bethpage. "There's some parity in the conference," Davenport said. "Every win, particularly on the road, is big."
