Newfield 52, Half Hollow Hills East 49: Devin Ward hit the go-ahead 3-pointer with 1:35 left to play to lift Newfield (4-4) in Suffolk III. Michael Agostino tied the score at 49 for the Wolverines just over 30 seconds earlier and Newfield's defense held down the stretch. Colin Cassara also made history, becoming the third player in Newfield history to crest the 1,000-point mark, according to coach Anthony Agostino. Cassara, who finished with 21 points, netted the basket early in the second quarter. Andrew Daniels also added 17 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks.
