Mineola vs Glen Cove

Mineola 17, Glen Cove 16: Sara Trimonte's RBI double in the top of the ninth inning gave Mineola (4-4) a 10-9 lead in its Nassau AB-IV win. Abby Meehan added a three-run triple later in the inning to extend the lead to 8. Meehan finished 5-for-6 with four RBIs. Brianna Malvino hit a three-run home run in the seventh to tie the game at 9 for Glen Cove and force extra innings. Kirsten Benes struck out six in eight innings to earn the win. Benes was relieved in the ninth inning, but was reinserted back into the game and got the final batter of the game to pop-up with the bases loaded, leaving the potential tying and go-ahead runners stranded on second and third. Benes went 3-for-5 with three runs scored, Mikayla Dalton had a two-run double in the ninth and Kaitlyn Wetzel went 4-for-6 with two RBIs.
