Syosset 2, Freeport 1: Derek Spillane hit the game-winning single to drive in Matt Zipkowitz at the bottom of the fifth to lead Syosset (7-6) in League AA-I. Centerfielder Jake Mitchnick caught a ball over the centerfield fence to rob a would-be homer at the top of the seventh. Jonathan Doyle pitched six innings with no earned runs, one walk and struck out five. Alex Perry recorded the save and went 2-for-2 with one RBI. Ryan Harrison went 2-for-2 with one run and Steven Hutchingson went 2-for-3.
