Oceanside 5, Syosset 4: Chris Hood struck out nine and allowed four hits and one earned run in 6 1/3 innings to lead Oceanside (5-5-1) in League AA-I. Tom Pallatto hit a two-run single in the fourth inning to give Oceanside a 2-1 lead. Jake Santamaria struck out the game's final batter with the tying run on second. Losing pitcher Alex Perry struck out 12 in four innings.
