Syosset 5, Freeport 4: Right fielder Vinny Favata had a diving catch for the final out of the game to halt Freeport's comeback bid and secured the win for Syosset (5-9-1) over Freeport (2-10) in Nassau AA-I. Dylan Santucci hit a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth inning to give Syosset their largest lead of the game at 5-2. Freeport battled back in the top of the seventh to cut the lead down to a single run, 5-4, but relief by Kenny Lieberman and a key defensive play by Favata ended the game with a tying run at third base. Thomas Martelli only gave up two runs and struck out nine in five innings pitched to earn the win. Pat Mianulli had two RBIs and Melvin Perez, Ethan Ramirez and Santucci each had one RBI for Syosset.
