Commack 13, Patchogue-Medford 1: Emmi Katz earned the win, pitching a six-inning no-hitter, striking out five and walking one to lead No. 10 Commack (14-6) over No. 7 Patchogue-Medford in the first round of the Suffolk Class AA playoffs. "She was doing a great job at working the strike zone," coach Harold Cooley III said. "She had some good defense behind her as well. It was just a matter of execution, she executed great." Melanie Koster went 1-for-2 including a three-run home run in the top of the sixth inning. Gabby Gomez was 1-for-3 with three RBIs. Kellie Gentile went 3-for-4. Commack faces the winner of No. 2 Bay Shore and No. 18 Deer Park in the second round at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22.
