Longwood 2, Half Hollow Hills West 1: Emily Koerick tossed a four-hitter and allowed a run with four strikeouts and one walk as host and No. 2 Longwood won the Suffolk Class AA softball final on Tuesday against No. 5 Half Hollow Hills West. The Lions -- who last won a crown in 2013 -- scored two in the first inning thanks to an RBI double by Molly Ryan (2-for-3) and an RBI single from Natalie Intrieri. Hills West (20-6) scored in the third on losing pitcher Jillian Weinstein's long sacrifice fly to centerfield in the third. The Colts were upset in the quarterfinals by Lindenhurst, 4-1, but have won five straight games (in six days) in the loser's bracket including a win against top-seeded Commack, 10-5, Monday. Weinstein -- a 20-game winner -- allowed two runs and five hits with a strikeout and no walks.
