HIGHLIGHTS
Mepham 4, MacArthur 2: Jenna Giliberti hit a solo home run in the bottom of the third inning to lead No. 4 Mepham (14-5) over No. 1 MacArthur (20-3) in Game 2 of the best-of-three game semifinals of the Nassau Class A playoffs. This game was a continuation from Tuesday, May 15. It resumed in the bottom of the fifth inning with a runner of first and no outs, with Mepham leading 3-2. Emma Greiner earned the win, pitching four innings on Tuesday, allowing two runs on six hits, striking out three and walking one. "I have a lot of great pitchers, I'm fortunate that way," coach Brenda Dolan said. "I definitely wanted to throw someone that hasn't been seen yet. She has great command of her ball and great speed, so it was a great time." Kayla Bourquin earned the save, pitching the final three innings, allowing no runs on one hit, striking out one and walking none. Mepham face either No. 2 Carey or No. 3 Bellmore JFK in the Nassau Class A Finals.
