Island Trees 4, Bethpage 3: Ashley D'Antuono hit a walk-off, two-out solo home run over the rightfield fence in the bottom of the eighth inning to give Island Trees a 4-3 victory in its season opener. The Bulldogs tied the score at 3 in the seventh inning when Demi Obremski hit a two-out triple to drive in Julia DeVincenzo with two outs. "The girls never wavered from the pressure," coach Frank Baglivo said, "and they came out on top." Kate Valente allowed two runs, none earned, and seven strikeouts in four innings before Hannah Vogt pitched four innings of one-run relief. Vogt also had a solo home run to leftfield in the third inning to give Island Trees a 2-0 lead.
