Sacred Heart 6, Cardinal Spellman 0: Janae Barracato went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs to lift Sacred Heart (18-3) over Cardinal Spellman in the CHSAA state semifinals at Padavan-Preller Fields in Queens. Barracato's two-run double increased the lead to 3-0 in the second inning. She hit a solo homer in the fourth to make it 5-0. Claire O'Brien tossed five shutout innings, allowing two hits with no walks and seven strikeouts. Patricia Gannon tossed two scoreless innings in relief to close out the game. Lauren Wasserman went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored, and Marissa Braito went 1-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base, and two runs scored in the win. Sacred Heart advances to face Nardin Academy in the state championship game on Tuesday at 5 p.m. at Padavan-Preller Fields.
