Farmingdale 7, Calhoun 6: Freshman Gianna Ventiere's RBI single in the bottom of the sixth inning broke a 6-6 tie in Farmingdale's non-league opener. Ventiere went 3-for-3. Chrissy Hassett, also a freshman, allowed six runs on three hits and struck out seven. Hassett intentionally walked Calhoun's Nicole Imhoff with two outs and a runner on second in the top of the seventh and then induced a ground out to end the game.
