Farmingdale vs Long Beach

Long Beach 8, Farmingdale 2: Paulina Cardona hit a game tying two-run homer in the fourth inning and Marisa Scandole drove in the go-ahead run with a bunt single later in the inning to lift No. 5 Long Beach over No. 12 Farmingdale in the first round of the Nassau Class AA playoffs. Kelsey Larson went 2-for-4, including a two-run single in the sixth to increase the lead to 7-2. Larson made a beautiful diving catch on a line drive hit up the middle with two runners on end the top of the fourth inning and keep Long Beach's deficit at 2-0. Grace Rosenberg tossed 3 1/3 scoreless innings of relief to earn the win. Long Beach advances to play at No. 4 Mepham on Friday.
