Mercy 3, Port Jefferson 1: Micaela Zebroski's two-run single scored Margaret Terry and Olivia Valle to give Mercy (8-4) a 2-1 lead in the top of the fifth during its League VI win. Nicole Gravagna's RBI groundout plated Alli Hulse to cap a three-run fifth. Riley Ellis scored the game's first run on an RBI single by Shannon Fee in the bottom of the fourth to give Port Jefferson a 1-0 lead. Freshman righthander Isabella Sorgi pitched an eight-hitter, allowing an earned run, striking out one and walking one for the win. Ellis pitched a five-hitter, allowing three earned runs, striking out two and walking three in defeat. With the victory, the Monarchs clinched a postseason berth in Suffolk Class B, Mercy coach Rich Schaub said.
