Newfield 16, Central Islip 1: Danielle Balsamo and Jessica Clark hit back-to-back home runs in a three-run first inning for Newfield (6-5) in its League II win. Balsamo's two-run homer, scoring Jennifer Sarcone, gave the Wolverines a 2-0 lead. It was Balsamo's third roundtripper of the season. Clark, a freshman shortstop, followed with a solo homer to make it 3-0. The homer was Clark's second on the season. Balsamo went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Clark went 2-for-4 with four RBIs and four runs scored.
