Half Hollow Hills West vs Eastport-South Manor

Marissa Rizzi tossed a no-hitter to lead Eastport-South Manor (8-0) over Half Hollow Hills West, the defending Class AA county champions, in League III. Rizzi, a junior, struck out six, allowed one walk and hit one batter over seven innings. Jenna Kreiling hit a two-out, three-run double down the left field line in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a scoreless tie. Danielle DeTore went 2-for-2 with a run scored for ESM (8-0). Alexis Kleet allowed three runs on six hits and one walk with five strikeouts for Hills West (5-2). "Her focus and her resilience are that of a champion," ESM coach Laura Ward said. "She is a true competitor."
