Patchogue- Medford 12, Ward Melville 0: Samantha Van Dorn pitched a no-hitter, striking out 10 in fridgidly cold temperatures.
"Considering the conditions, she had quite a performance," coach Dave Gervino said. "She mixed her pitches up real well, as far as location and movement."
Van Dorn also hit a grand slam in the second inning. Later in the second, Cierra Cardenales hit a two-run homer, capping a nine run inning.
"On both ends of the ball, she definitely delivered," Gervino said of Van Dorn.
Patchogue-Medford is 2-1 in League I.
