HIGHLIGHTS
East Islip 10, Westhampton 5: Kayla Varga went 3-for-4 with two home runs, three RBIs and two runs scored to lead No. 2 East Islip over No. 1 Westhampton in the Suffolk Class AA winner's bracket final. Varga hit a solo homer to take an 8-5 lead in the seventh. Sophia Corso delivered a two-out, two-run single later in the inning. Marisa Renganeschi went 2-for-5 with a grand slam, two runs scored and a stolen base. Reagan O'Hara went 2-for-4 with a home run and a double. Varga and O'Hara hit back-to-back home runs with two outs in the top of the first inning. Cate Ropiak went 2-for-4 and struck out five in a complete game. Addison Celi went 2-for-2 with two runs scored for Westhampton (16-6). East Islip (15-5) advances to the final at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Martha Avenue Park. Westhampton will host No. 6 Hauppauge in the elimination bracket final at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
