Commack 14, Longwood 4: Madison Johnston went 4-for-5 with four doubles and three RBIs to lead No. 2 Commack over No. 10 Longwood in the second round of the Suffolk Class AAA double elimination playoffs. Johnston's leadoff double in the bottom of the sixth was her 100th career hit. Kate Schweitzer struck out 10 and allowed one earned run in a complete game to earn the win. With 254 strikeouts this season, Schweitzer broke Commack's single season strikeout record, set by Kayla O'Boyle (253) in 2023. Commack (18-3) will host No. 6 Ward Melville in the third round at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Longwood (12-10) will play an elimination game at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
