Smithtown West 3, East Islip 0: Erin McDaid struck out 10 in a complete game to lead No. 2 Smithtown West over No. 1 East Islip in the Suffolk Class AA winner's bracket final. Jiselle Singh and Gabrielle Krayewski each had two hits. Krayewski had two RBIs and Avery Bonello had one. Smithtown West (15-7) advances to the county finals, where it will face a to-be-determined opponent at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Martha Avenue Field in Bellport. Caitlin Ropiak struck out eight in a complete game for East Islip (16-7), which will host either No.3 Eastport-South Manor or No. 6 Comsewogue in an elimination game at 4 p.m. Thursday.
