HIGHLIGHTS
East Islip 9, West Babylon 8: Cate Ropiak went 2-for-4 with a home run, five RBIs, three runs scored and threw a complete game as No. 1 East Islip defeated No. 5 West Babylon in the second round of the Suffolk Class AA playoffs. Kayla Varga had a two-out, two-strike double to drive in Sylvia Corso and Cate Ropiak to give East Islip a 9-8 lead in the bottom of the sixth inning. Alexa Leonard went 2-for-4 with two doubles and scored two runs. Sylvia Corso walked three times. East Islip was down 8-2 in the 4th inning after a 7 run 2nd inning from West Babylon. East Islip scored 3 runs in the 4th inning to cut the lead to 8-5. East Islip scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 6th to earn the win.
