Smithtown West 5, Eastport-South Manor 2: Erin McDaid threw a no-hitter and struck out 14 while allowing two unearned runs as second-seeded Smithtown West (14-7) beat No. 3 Eastport-South Manor (18-4) in a winners bracket game in the Suffolk Class AA playoffs. McDaid also had two hits and an RBI. Gabrielle Krayewski had two hits and drove in three. Jiselle Singh reached base four times in the win via a hit, two walks and a hit by pitch. Smithtown West will play at No. 1 East Islip at 4 p.m. Wednesday. Eastport-South Manor will host No. 4 Rocky Point at 11 a.m. Saturday in a losers bracket game.
