HIGHLIGHTS
Islip 2, Kings Park 1: Lauren Hofmann threw a complete game three-hitter to lead No. 5 Islip over No. 4 Kings Park in the first round of the Suffolk Class A playoffs. Hofmann allowed three walks with one strikeout and also went 1-for-3 with a run scored. Jalyn Sadaro went 2-for-3 and Alyssa Muschenick had a big two-out hit putting Islip (11-9-1) up by two in the fifth inning. Taylor Unverzagt had six putouts in the outfield. Amanda Van Schuyler struck out seven for Kings Park (14-7). Islip will visit No. 1 Miller Place in the second round on Friday at 4 p.m. Kings Park will host No. 6 Glenn on Saturday at noon for an elimination game.
