Sachem East vs North Babylon

Sachem East 3, North Babylon 1: Olivia DeRose struck out eight in a 10-inning complete game to lead No. 3 Sachem East over No. 2 North Babylon in the Suffolk Class AAA winners bracket. DeRose also had two RBIs and a triple and drove in the go-ahead run in the top of the 10th inning. Centerfielder Sam Madigan made a great throw to catcher Sloane Bassett to prevent the winning run from scoring in the bottom of the seventh. Sachem East (17-4) will visit No. 1 Riverhead at 4 p.m. Monday with a trip to the championship on the line. North Babylon (17-3) will host No. 5 Connetquot at noon Sunday in an elimination game.
