HIGHLIGHTS
East Islip 9, West Babylon 5: Meeya Leaderman came in relief in the top of the sixth inning with the bases loaded and zero outs, but managed to leave the inning without allowing a run while also going 2-for-4 with a run as No. 3 East Islip defeated No. 6 West Babylon in the first round of the Suffolk Class AA playoffs. Lexi Kneisel was 3-for-4 with a home run, two RBIs, two runs and a stolen base. Reagan O'Hara was 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs. Kayla Varga was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Cate Ropiak earned the win, allowing four earned runs across five innings. East Islip (15-6) will face No. 2 West Islip Thursday at 4 p.m. West Babylon (12-8) will take on No. 7 Eastport-South Manor on the same date.
