HIGHLIGHTS
Massapequa 8, Farmingdale 6: Sophia Diaz hit a two-run home run at the plate and struck out one in six innings pitched to earn the win and lead No.2 Massapequa over No.6 Farmingdale in game three of the Nassau Class AA Semifinals. Massapequa lead 6-2 in the top of the sixth inning before giving up two runs to only lead by two heading into the seventh inning. Closer Mikayla Buckley gave up an earned run and Farmingdale scored on an errant pass before the third groundout of the inning secured Buckley the save and Massapequa the victory. Maeve Schiereck went 3-for-3 with three RBIs, Annalise Lane went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Meghan Stork went 1-for-2 with an RBI for Massapequa. Massapequa (15-9) will face No.5 Syosset 11:30am Saturday at Mitchel Field in game one of the Nassau Class AA Championship series. Farmingdale finished 18-4 on the season.
