Calhoun 4, Mepham 0: Johanna Esposito threw a complete game no-hitter in eight innings, striking out 13 and walking four to lead Calhoun (8-10) over Mepham (4-14) in Nassau I. "My curveball was finally on again," Esposito said. "I threw a bunch of rises too, a good strikeout pitch." The game was scoreless going into extra innings and Calhoun popped off four runs in the top of the eighth as Esposito closed out the eighth on the mound. "[Johanna] didn't lose momentum, throwing hard the whole game and didn't let up," Calhoun coach Michael Pisano said. "Her curveball and screwball were working very well and she sprinkled in her changeup to throw [the batters] off." Gianna Haniff went 2-for-4, Gianna Lucchi went 2-for-4 with an RBI, Ruth Small had an RBI-double and Ava Giuliano had a two-RBI single for Calhoun.
