West Islip 7, Floyd 5: Caitlyn Herzing struck out nine over seven innings to earn the win and lead No. 4 West Islip over No. 6 Floyd in the Suffolk AA elimination game. Kiara Bellido put Floyd ahead in the top of the first with a two run homerun. West Islip put up two in the bottom of the first when Annie Chambers hit a two RBI double. Bellido hit a three run homerun in the top of the third. West Islip's Camryn Mariano sent a three run homerun over the fence to tie the score at five in the bottom of the fourth. West Islip's Makayla Comer hit a two RBI single with the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth to put West Islip ahead 7-5. West Islip ( 18-4) will host the winner of No. 9 Smithtown East/ No. 10 Connetquot at 4 p.m. Tuesaday in the second-round.
