Long Beach 9, North Shore 8: Maggie Resnick scored the winning goal in the second overtime with 20 seconds remaining off an assist by Jillian Canner to lead Long Beach in Nassau I opener. Long Beach was down by one heading into the second half. Canner tied the score at seven with 1:37 remaining in the half. Long Beach took the lead when Resnick scored with 42 seconds remaining off an assist from her sister Sarah. North Shore's Selena Fortich tied the score at eight with 28 seconds left to force an overtime. Sarah Resnick made two of her 11 saves in the first overtime to halt North Shore's momentum.
