Riverhead 16, Commack 8: Sean Payton and Jackson Redmond each scored five goals to lead sixth-seeded Riverhead (14-3) past No. 11 Commack (8-8) in the first round of the Suffolk Class A playoffs. Griffin Sumwalt added four goals and one assist and Zach Timpone had two goals and four assists. Zach Maligres won 20 faceoffs in the victory. James Pagano had two goals and one assist and Brandon Berozi also had two goals for Commack. Riverhead will play at No. 3 Ward Melville in the quarterfinals at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
