Northport 19, Sachem East 14: Hazel Carlson pulled 21 flags and had a 30-yard interception return for a touchdown to lead No. 8 Northport over No. 9 Sachem East in the first round of the Suffolk Class A playoffs. Grace Gilmartin threw for 195 yards and a touchdown and rushed for another 102 yards and one touchdown in the win. Northport (9-4) will play at No. 1 Half Hollow Hills East at 4 p.m. Friday in the quarterfinals. Sofia Larrea threw for two touchdowns for Sachem East, which finished 5-5.
