HIGHLIGHTS
This past weekend The Stony Brook School rowing team collaborating with the Port Jefferson Rowing Club opened up their spring regatta season against 55 competitive rowing programs at the Mercer Sculling Championships in Princeton, NJ Flight Medals were claimed by the following athletes Tatiana Garrison, Anna Femanino, Molly & Sylas MacDonald : Girls Novice Quad, bronze Wes Yoder, James Wigington, Aidan Chambers, and Tom Hyams : Boys novice quad, silver Michael Lascarides, Sooyoung Nam : Lightweight double, bronze The boys Varsity quad including Andrew Smith, Andreas Simoni, Tim Loo, and Hugo MacDonald dominated the B final finishing with several boat lengths of open water against the nearest competition. Hugo MacDonald stole second in the boys Varsity Single B Final, while Andreas Simoni finished 7th in the A Final. Sophia Martinez finished 4th in the girls Varsity single A Final. Katie Chambers and Lauren Durkin also fought hard for 4th in the girls Varsity double A Final.
