HIGHLIGHTS
Valley Stream North 3, Hewlett 2: In his first varsity appearance, sophomore Jack Lang struck out the final batter in the top of the seventh inning to escape a bases loaded jam and lead Valley Stream North (1-1) in non-league. Chris Manzi pitched six innings, struck out seven and allowed no earned runs and two hits to earn the win, while Lang notched the save. Colin McGreevy's RBI double in the bottom of the sixth drove in James Saracino to give Valley Stream North a 2-1 lead. Mike Benincasa added an RBI ground out later in the inning.
