Ward Melville 3, Longwood 2: Pat Schriffen's infield groundout drove in Matthew Giovanni Franco in the bottom of the seventh to lead Ward Melville (1-1) in Suffolk I. Matthew Giovanni Franco led off the inning with a double. In the previous inning, Ethan Farino doubled with two outs and two strikes and Anthony Pascale followed it up with a two-run home run to right field to tie the game at 2 for the Patriots. Pascale also was down two strikes prior to the homer. Max Nielsen went 5.1 innings, struck out 12 and allowed three hits and one earned run for a no decision. James Myler opened the scoring with a solo homer for Longwood in the top of the second.
