HIGHLIGHTS
Mercy 10, Stony Brook 9: Andrew Smith hit a two-run walk-off home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to lead No. 2 Mercy (15-7) over No. 4 Stony Brook in the second round of the Suffolk C playoffs. Smith also hit a grand slam in the bottom of the fifth inning. Joe Wozny of Stony Brook hit a grand slam with two outs in the top of the seventh inning putting Stony Brook ahead 8-6 in the top of the seventh inning. Andrew Smith earned the win, pitching the seventh and eighth innings in relief, allowing two runs on two hits, striking out two and walking one. Mercy faces the winner No. 1 Pierson and No. 3 Southold in the semifinals at a time and location to be determined.
