Bethpage 6, Clarke 5: Max Vera hit a two-run double to score Brian O'Boyle and Sean Dalton in a four-run top of the seventh inning to give Bethpage a 6-5 lead to guide No. 4 Bethpage (12-9) over No. 1 Clarke in the Nassau Class A first round. Bethpage trailed 5-2 entering the top of the seventh. Mike Mkrtichian earned the win, pitching one-third of an inning and getting the last out in the bottom of the sixth inning. Dalton earned the save, pitching the seventh inning and striking out two. Matt Rubenstein hit a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth inning for Clarke. Bethpage faces No. 2 Garden City on Tuesday at Garden City High School.
