Plainedge 8, Hewlett 4: Nick Ragione went 1-for-2 and had a two-run double in the fifth inning that gave Plainedge a 6-4 lead in its Nassau A-II opener. Jason Bottari went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI. Frank Whitenack pitched four innings in relief with two strikeouts, one walk, six hits and one run in to earn his first varsity win.
