Thomas Fletcher was 4-for-5 with three RBIs and three runs in the win. Carle Place (3-8-1) rallied from an 11-3 deficit to tie the score at 11 after an eight-run sixth. Oyster Bay scored six in the bottom of the sixth to go ahead, 17-11, but Carle Place scored six times in the seventh to tie the score at 17-all setting up Yerkes' heroics.
