West Islip 5, Ward Melville 1: Tom Gatto struck out eight, walked one and scattered five hits in a complete game to lead No. 4 West Islip (19-6) over No. 1 Ward Melville in Game 2 of a Suffolk AA semifinal series. West Islip advanced to the county finals with the win. Greg Tsouprakos went 1-for-3 with two RBIs and Anthony Ippolito hit a two-run single in the third inning to give West Islip a 4-0 lead. Frank Genise hit a pinch-hit RBI single with two outs in the fifth inning for West Islip.
